The beloved coming-of-age Netflix series Heartstopper is officially coming to an end—but not with a Season 4. Instead, the story of Nick and Charlie will conclude with a final Heartstopper movie, based on Volume 6 of Alice Oseman’s graphic novel series. The film will be directed by Wash Westmoreland (Still Alice, Colette).

Announced via Netflix’s official X/Twitter account, the post reads: “Heartstopper will return, bigger than ever. A Heartstopper movie, our final chapter based on Alice Oseman’s upcoming volume six, is coming!!!”
Lead stars Kit Connor and Joe Locke will reprise their roles as Nick and Charlie. Both actors will also serve as executive producers. Alice Oseman, the original author and series creator, is co-writing the script alongside Westmoreland.
Filming is set to begin in summer 2025, though Netflix has yet to announce an official release date.
“I am completely overjoyed that we will get to tell the end of the Heartstopper story,” said Oseman in a heartfelt statement. “I’m so grateful to everyone who has worked hard to make this possible and to the incredible fans of Heartstopper for your patience and passion. I cannot wait to bring this story to a magical conclusion.”
According to Netflix, the upcoming Heartstopper movie will continue the story after the events of Season 3, where Nick and Charlie are happily in love. However, challenges lie ahead:
